    Try using 7Zip and open up a 3rd party theme dll and burrow down(example: F:\Theming Stuff\Dark Theme\gray_2014__dark_theme_windows_8_1_update_1__upd_11_by_ezio-d6x6ssl\Gray 2014 by Ezio\THEME files\Normal version\Gray2014\Shell\NormalColor\shellstyle.dll\.rsrc\0\

    @ Cliff S:
I couldn't begin to guess how many 1000's of dll's I've searched through!
I think it's written up in XAML somewhere, yet, it's visible to the naked eye so there has to be a resource somewhere for that funky menu!
Beats me! I may trip over it some day!

When someone does then either you, or Shawn
One way to find it(I don't have the time right now) is look through the HUD red or blue system icon installer. Or ask at Virtual Customs maybe?

    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

I followed the instructions at the beginning of this thread, but my "properties" window does not have a "customize" tab. Anyone know what is going on? I have Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit.

Hello cgb, and welcome to Ten Forums.

What folder is this for, and what is it's location?

Folders included in a library will not have a Customize tab.

Thanks for your reply. Indeed the folder is a subfolder of a folder in a library. Anything I can do about it? I use "large icons" for view and I don't like that the subfolder icon comes up in Explorer showing a private picture.

    cgb,

Here's how you can change the icon of a folder included in a library:

    1. Right click on the folder in the library, and click on Open folder location.

    2. You can now follow the tutorial to change the icon of the target folder. It will automatically get applied in the library as well.
