    Hello Jay,

Just to verify, do you have any special requirements to connect to Internet? For example, via some program that may not be loading in Safe Mode.
    No I don’t.

I tested if I would get a pop up window telling that there was an issue with my internet connection like it used to do with the previous tweak with the .VBS file.

It was telling me that there was no connection, but I could go on internet.
So this time, I wanted to check if it would be the same thing, and, there’s no pop up window, and no connection at all ???

When in Safe Mode, Kaspersky is completely off, and so is NordVPN.

I don’t have many program on my laptop, because I use it mostly for Microsoft Office 2019 Pro, and a bit of surfin’ on the web.

I just tested the safe mode with networking option on my system to see if anything may have changed, but it's still working for me.

It appears something required for your Internet connection is not getting loaded while in Safe Mode.

If you like as a test, you could see how manually booting into Safe Mode with Networking using an option in the tutorial below may for you. The context menu in this tutorial uses the same command in Option 3 below.

    Hi,

I gave it a try with the usual path, and after selecting the option #5 (Safe Mode with Network), my laptop was in Safe Mode... but no network ???

So, now, where should I look, if I want this issue fixed ?

    Thank You !

I would compare your running processes in Task Manager while in normal mode vs Safe Mode with Network to see if anything may stand out for your Internet connection.

It seems to be something required is not loading in Safe Mode.

    Hi,

It’s not easy to compare !

There was only two processes really different from the normal mode, by that I mean in the « Mémoire » column, it was at zero. It’s Cortana and the process named « Interruptions du système (System interruptions) », beside that, there was nothing outstanding ???

I'd look under the "Apps" section to see something may be running related to the network connection.

You might also see if running the "Internet Connections" or "Network Adapter" troubleshooters while in Safe Mode with Network may find anything.

    Hi,

I found an answer on the Microsoft Community.

According to this answer, Windows 10 doesn’t allow you to have network whilst on WiFi, if you want to go to Safe Mode with Network, you must be using an ethernet connection !???

I will give it a try, and will post my result.

I haven't tested this, but read that some folks were able to use Wi-Fi in Safe Mode with Network with this method:

    1) When you restart to boot into Safe Mode with Network, manually connect to Wi-Fi on the sign-in screen first.

    2) Sign-in.

    3) If needed, manually connect to Wi-Fi again, and test connection.

    Hi,

The connection on the sign-in screen doesn’t work.
After signing-in,once on the Desk, it doesn’t work either.

I checked in network and internet, and the Wifi section is not there.

Back to the normal mode :

As you can see, the Wifi option and some others are back.

But, it doesn’t matter, it is great to get into Safe Mode so easily and so fast !

    Thank You
