Unfortunately, the options to remove BMP and TXT from the New context menu do not work in Windows 11. I'm still investigating to try and find out why.

It's not a waste of time Dan. I would like to have an updated version of this for Windows 11. We just have to get it to work for all options first.

ZIP will work, but not TXT in Windows 11.

As Brink says, the New desktop context flyout can be reduced to Folder, Shortcut, plus Bitmap and Text, as below. I used Winaero's Shell New Handler in the first instance, and it got rid of everything except Bmp and Txt; then I came to Brink's W10 solution, and found it didn't get Bmp or Txt either, so I asked him to look into this.

Of course, you could try this below to remove the "New" context menu completely in Windows 11.
