The enablement package is usually for the beta insider program.

What does it show in Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program to see if indicates you may have an Insider build or not?
It says "Diagnostic data must be set to Full to get preview builds.".

    I may have got the KB from KB4562830 Feature-Update auf die Windows 10 20H2 (2009) 19042 [Manueller Download] | Deskmodder.de or similar.

I installed it to my 2004 Home 19041.450 release build a few weeks ago. Winver now shows "Version 20H2 (OS Build: 19042.508)". I think everything will work out and I'll be back to normal release path when 20H2 gets publicly released - but was just wanted to alleviate my concerns about my Franken version. Let me know if you want any other version information. Thanks

You definitely have an Insider build installed from the enablement package.

You should be fine to get the public release when available since you are not actually joined or set to get Insider builds.

WIN 10 Home Ver. 2004 Build 19041.508 Repair Install

Does the Media Creation Tool work for the titled version of WIN 10 to do a Repair Install?

I am anxious to keep all of my current programs, data, and settings (knowing I may have to do a few tweaks) rather than re-installing and trying to rebuild my current set up.

Any guidance or assistance you can give me will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    From the tutorial:
you could also do a repair install of Windows 10 by performing an in-place upgrade without losing anything other than all installed Windows Updates.

You will keep all apps, programs and personal data, just as when you upgrade, as an in-place upgrade repair uses the same basic mechanism as when you upgrade.

    • You will only be able to do a repair install of Windows 10 from within Windows 10. You will not be able to do a repair install at boot or in Safe Mode.
    - and see step 6 - applicable to the current major build only- which yours is.

Step 6 also gives the download link for the media creation tool.

@Brink - Hi, just wondering, in Step 6 it mentions 1903...?

The MCT 2004 is available at:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

Older Windows versions/builds can be used for a repair instead of an upgrade or upgrade and repair.

Why is it recommended to select "Not right now" for "Get important updates" when doing a repair install? In the video tutorial it still shows updates being installed.

    Hello bru,

It's a precaution to make sure that Windows is updated to only the same build and version currently installed. Otherwise, it may affect what you will be able to keep.

You can always check for updates in Windows Update after the repair install has finished though.
