    Hi Shawn,

It doesn't work on my version of Windows 10 (18363.997).
The Photo viewer is opening and if I want to view a regular picture there is a message telling me that I don't have enough RAM or enough space on my disk !??? I have 64 Go of RAM and 757 Go of free space on my NVMe disk.
Do you have any idea of where could be the problem ???
I used the reg file for all users. rebooted the computer and selected it as the default app.

    Thanks

    sincerely Jay

    Hello Jay,

Did you by chance disable or lower the page file?

If so, setting the page file back to the default of being managed by the system should sort this.

    Hi,

That was the cause of this issue !

Because of the amount of RAM, I disabled the pagefil !

I enabled it managed by the system, and now it's working !

    Thanks a lot

How do i add a custom program in the list of default photo viewer?

I remember in the much earlier windows 10 version you get to choose your own program, now you only get to pick from the MS Store.

Finally, it has nothing to do with the deactivation of the pagefil !???

The old Windows Photo Viewer was and still gives me that message with only three pictures !

I check in Property, and everything seems OK.

The size of these three pictures (450 to 550 Ko) seem to be the issue ? That's very strange because I can view 4K pictures without getting this message ???
I tried with deactivating the pagefil as it was before, and it was the same issue ... only with these three pictures !???

So, if it wasn't for these three pictures, the Windows Photo Viewer works perfectly !

    Thanks a lot !

Odd. Have you tested re-saving these pictures with a different file type to see if they still cause this issue?

No, they're both JPG, look for yourself:

And with one of the picture that are much smaller than the first:

    Very strange ???

They were both taken from a smartphone.

    Thank You !

Could be something wrong with how it was saved by the phone. Possible corruption.

I'd test by opening the image in Paint (mspaint.exe), and then just click on save to re-save as is. Afterwards, test to see if you have the same issue in Windows Photo Viewer.

    Hi Shawn !

Thank you for your time !

The same picture opens perfectly with Paint, and I saved it as a copy

Restore Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 10-windows-photo-viewer-1-.jpg

Then I try viewing the copy with the Windows Photo Viewer, and the issue remains the same !????

Restore Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 10-windows-photo-viewer-2-.png

    It is very bizarre !???

Only three pictures are doing this !???

    Thank You

P.S.: When I use the Windows 10 Photo apps (When it doesn't crash !!!), there is no issues with the three pictures !???

That is odd only those 3 pictures seem to cause this.

If you like, save the .jpg picture as a .png in Paint to see if the now .png also does this Windows Photo Viewer.
