Just one example, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Power\PowerSettings\ is no longer a key.
    Nor is
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Power
    Among many other things.
Revise title to reflect date and version of Windows 10 that this applies to. Maybe delete. Start over.
Please take a closer look at the .reg file available for download in option #5. If a key does not exist, the merge operation will add it. Contents of the .reg file are:

    Hi Brink,

Wonderful guide! I wish it had helped me: I cannot get rid of the Windows log in screen. I read comments, I hope I didn’t miss anything important. Also, hope you’re still around : )

I’m using a desktop pc, Windows 10 home, 1909, 18363.657. I’m not using any password, or screensaver. There’s only one user on this pc, me, admin.
    I’ve followed your troubleshooting:
Option 1: not available, because I don’t want any password
Option 2: being a desktop pc, I can’t seem to find Power Option
Option 3: already done, didn’t work
    Option 4: not available
Option 5: already done, didn’t work

So, is there any other possible workaround to avoid having to log in after every time I send the pc to sleep?

    Thanks

EDIT.: I forgot to mention I didn't understand f14tomcat's last post. Also, will my windows registry be messed up after 'Option 5' not having worked? (as I understood it happened to DustyShinigami (page 7))

    Hello Delfion,

If wanted, you could add a password to your account to be able to use option 1.

If wanted, you could also use the tutorial below to have netplwiz automatically sign in to your account at startup.

Sign in User Account Automatically at Windows 10 Startup

    Hi Delfion,

Since you don't have a password, what happens when you get to the log in screen?

Usually, you would just see a "Sign in" button to click/tap on since there's no password.

Thank you for your prompt replies.

That’s it: it just shows a bothersome and useless "Sign in" obstacle button to tap on.

If I do this, will I be able to disable the password once I’ve disabled the imposed “Log in” by the wicked "Sign in" button? That is, will I be able to: add a password, turn Off the Require Sign-in, turn off password?

If I do this, will the foul "Sign in" button stop showing up not only on “startup”, but also on wakeup? I ask this because the heinous button only manifests when I send the pc to sleep, not when I start the computer – then it just appears the desktop.

    Thanks

Add a password will allow you to turn off require sign-in on wakeup by selecting "Never".

This will not affect at startup though, so you would need to use netpliz in option 1 below to have Windows automatically sign in to your account at startup.

Sign in User Account Automatically at Windows 10 Startup

If you removed the password after setting up the above, you would be back to where you are now at wakeup, and netplwiz will break telling you the password is incorrect until you check the box in netplwiz or set it up again with a new password.

Ok. So there's no way not to have to "Sign in" AND not to have a password. Fantastic Mr. Windows! Each OS version gets worse : /

P.S.: I said I didn't have to sign in at start up.

    Thanks

Yeah, it requires a password to be able to automatically sign in with your credentials.
