I can't get ClickMonitorDCC to work, and even if I could, I don't think that'd solve this for me - I also want option 7 back (brightness changing on power vs. on battery). It's crazy that this feature has been removed.
I'm definitely not a smart Windows modder guy, but if someone can figure out a workaround or a way to get it back, it'd be awesome. My set up was 50% brightness on battery and 100% on charge, but I just can't find a way to replicate that now that brightness options are gone from advanced power plan settings.
I'm afraid that the display brightness setting now applies to both on battery and AC equally now. No separation. :-(
Adjust Screen Brightness in Windows 10
Starting with Windows 10 build 18282, Microsoft heard your feedback about a specific case where a display can become brighter when transitioning from a battery charger to battery power. Microsoft is modifying the display brightness behavior so that this can no longer happen. If a person adjusts their display brightness, that brightness will now be remembered as their preferred brightness whether they are on battery or connected to a charger. This new behavior results in a more consistent and battery friendly experience. This does not affect battery saver mode settings; if a person has opted into lowering the screen brightness in battery saver mode, their display will still dim when the battery is below the threshold selected.
It just blows my mind. If you didn't want different brightness settings on AC/battery, you could change it.
Classic 'it's a feature!' Not for me it isn't
Be sure to send feedback to Microsoft requesting the separate display brightness setting for AC/DC. If they get enough, they may add it back or a modified version of it.
It works great in 1809.
I finally found a fix to this (or rather, someone on the Autohotkey forums pointed me towards one!)
[Q] Trying to find a script that lowers laptop brightness on battery - can anyone help? - AutoHotkey Community
You can edit the script to set whatever you want, so I've changed 50% brightness on power to 90%, and battery is now at 50%.
Hope this helps people like me who have really missed this option in Windows 10!
Hello,
If you like, you can also use the command in option 4 or 5 in the tutorial below to change the display brightness if it may be easier for you to use.

Hey mate,
You might see if you have adaptive brightness enabled, and disable it if so.

In addition, the screen will dim a bit by default right before the display is set to turn off.
