    The above do not seem to work. I need a driver for HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0900.
    you need to mention the full ID besides DEV_0900, testcy
    the part after it that mentions your SUBSYS ID of your Realtek audio device like the following (this one {which is an ALC892} is used on my Gigabyte board which is supported by both HDA & UAD drivers)

    "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182"

    on a different gigabyte board with a different Realtek ALCxxx chip, it might use this one {now the following ID has "DEV_0900"}:

    "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0900&SUBSYS_1458A182"

    a "SUBSYS" ID that begins with "1458" indicates the vendor ID is Gigabyte
    a "SUBSYS" ID that begins with "1043" indicates the vendor ID is > Asus
    and a "SUBSYS" ID that begins with "1462" indicates the vendor ID is > MSI

    I am now using 6.0.8703.1 HDA, but could I use UAD drivers instead?

    not officially. SUBSYS ID "1458A0B2" is not in the list of IDs in the HDXGigabyte.inf file of newer UAD/DCH driver versions. that's why new UAD versions won't work for you, testcy. your Gigabyte board is very old (about a decade old) & Realtek decided early on not to include IDs from such ancient boards & laptop/desktop pcs; only IDs from 8th gen Intel / AMD Ryzen gen 2 based PCs & boards (and some IDs from 6th/7th gen Intel & AMD Ryzen gen 1) and newer are officially supported by UAD/DCH drivers.

    ID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0900&SUBSYS_1458A0B2" only officially supported by the HDXMB3H.inf file of an HDA nonUAD driver, according to the Driverpack.io web site.

    the only UAD/DCH driver you could use is an old 6.0.8904.1 version from late February 2020, which is the very last version to officially include generic HDXRT.inf & HDXRTSST.inf files as Realtek ceased production of those generic INF files starting from version 6.0.8907.1 & higher

    OR

    you could try this rare 6.0.9356.1 UAD generic hdxrt.inf driver version from DriverHub. I've tested this one on very old PCs that I have that use Realtek audio and are not officially supported by UAD/DCH drivers & they work okay.

    Thank you, both drivers seem to work, only thing I noticed missing is the Realtek HD Audio Manager.

    Realtek HD Audio Manager is for HDA drivers only.
    for UAD/DCH drivers, you need Realtek Audio Console from the Microsoft store, which is the UWP equivalent of the Audio Manager app {see forum topic "Realtek Audio Console REQUIRES a Realtek HD (UAD) Driver!!" on how to obtain that app from MS store}

    you need to have the Realtek Hardware Support Application "component" driver installed in order to obtain the Realtek Audio Console app from MS store.

    check this device manager screenshot from one of my PCs {launch device manager by typing devmgmt.msc in the Run dialog box}
    Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version [3]-realtek-uad-software-compoments-devmgr-generic.png

    need to have at least these 3 Realtek Software Component drivers listed in the "software components" section of device manager.

    do realize that the UAD/DCH driver structure is vastly different than the older style HDA nonUAD/nonDCH driver structure, testcy. HDA drivers are sort of "unified" and are easy to install & remove. with UAD, they're divided into "components" and have to be installed/updated individually - it'll take some time to get used to using UAD/DCH drivers after switching over from HDA drivers.

    thanks for this one. I noticed that the supported hardware IDs listed for 9605 (on the Package Details tab) are the following:

    Code:
    intelaudio\func_01&ven_10ec&dev_0256&subsys_14583003
    intelaudio\func_01&ven_10ec&dev_0256&subsys_14583004
    I did say in an earlier post that SUBSYS IDs beginning with "1458" mean the vendor ID is Gigabyte.
    these IDs seem to be relatively new

    With 6.0.9356.1 UAD, nothing from Realtek is listed under Software components in Device Manager and downloading from the Microsoft store does not work. Realtek Audio Control can be found from Realtek Audio Control Download (2023 Latest), but after installation it does not work with the message "Can not connect to RPC service".

    I see the problem. the reason you do not have any "software components" registered in Device manager is that you need a Realtek device extension INF file (only found in OEM drivers and "not" found in the MS catalog site) to "register" the components. and you have only installed the Realtek UAD/DCH 6.0.9356.1 codec driver while the other components are missing. so therefore your 6.0.9356.1 driver installation is incomplete.

    like I said before, the driver structure of UAD is totally different than HDA

    try downloading & using this old 6.0.8904.1 UAD generic driver package that I made a few years ago - this one has a setup installer along with generic HDXRT.inf & HDXRTSST.inf files AND bundles the crucial HDX_GenericExt_RTK.inf Realtek device extension INF file that should "register" the other Realtek components.

    first remove every trace of that realtek uad 9356 driver and reboot (and disconnect from the internet to prevent Windows from installing it's own audio driver version. then you MUST run the setup.exe installer for the 8904 driver package {do NOT use Device manager to install the INF files as HDX_GenericExt_RTK.inf cannot be installed thru device manager} to install all the codec driver files & components, reboot again & reconnect to the internet.

    edit - I will try to make a "full" uad generic 9356 driver package for you and post it shortly

    Something unexpected happened

    Reporting this problem will help us understand it better. You can wait a bit and try again or restart your device. That may help.
