Lost sound driver in HP Touchsmart AIO when upgrading from 7 to 10

    Ed, thanks for the article, which is unfortunately a bit over my head. I am happy to work on it as long as I am not working on an unreachable goal. So to cut to the chase, is it possible to implement this inexpensively? If so, is it even possible given I have no sound drivers at all, and don't seem to be making much progress in installing one?

    Oscer, thanks for yours. Prior to your posting it, I decided to reinstall W10 while I was waiting for ideas. It has been an incredibly slow, start and restart process, but I have just set up w10 with cortana speaking away to me, so unless something goes pear shaped, the problem seems to be resolved. Thanks again for your and all the others good help.
