    Microphone Issue

Hello all, I am having an issue getting the microphone to work on a new headset. I got it to work one night after the windows assistant said it updated some faulty drivers. But since then still nothing.

I have a Turtle Beach Atlas One headset, and I can hear fine, but no mic. I have an adapter going into the front of my PC.

I have tried a number of various settings with no luck.

    Windows Version 2004.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    UPDATE

I ran an audio troubleshooting again and when it asks if I heard the beep, I said no, even though I did. Then I got this:

"It looks like there's an issue with your audio driver. I'd like to update your driver to inbox class driver to fix this issue. Is that okay?"

Hit yes and now it appears the Mic is working again. So my next question is, how did the drivers "roll back" or stop working after previously working. And why do I have to lie to my PC to get it to correct the issue?

So i've restarted my computer and the issue is back. It's as if the driver gets rolled back somehow on restart?

Hi, you might try their support as it's a problem specific to your device:
    Contact Support – Turtle Beach(R)

Make a note of the driver and version installed in both cases you mention.

There are two ways it might be replaced:
    a. By Windows update (Check Update History, scroll down to Drivers)
    However, note this change:
UPDATE 2/19/2020: Windows 10 driver updates will now be manual Optional Updates

Beginning with the August 2020 security update for Windows 10, when optional updates are detected by your device, they will be displayed on a new page under Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View optional updates. That means you no longer need to utilize Device Manager to search for updated drivers for specific devices.

    from
Turn On or Off Device Driver Automatic Installation in Windows 10
    b. By Windows reinstalling the original driver from its internal drivers on restarting.

This says no specific drivers are needed:

This may help if you require to keep a specific driver for a device, but relates to Windows Update:
