I tried now with one of the GUI (peace) and unfortunately I could not solve the issue. The volume can be changed but nothing else. Moving any other level is not making any difference to the output sound. It is incredibly annoying :/

Thank you anyway for your help. I guess I will never be able to fix this unless anybody else has any other suggestion to solve the issue.

If you were to post a screenshot of your equaliser GUI...

Note this from its help- this may be why it has no effect on yours:

    Control Panel

If you installed Equalizer APO and no changes to the configuration file lead to any changes in the signal, APOs might have been disabled for the device in the Control Panel.
To check this, open Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Sound and double click on your audio device to open the properties dialog.

If the dialog has an "Enhancements" tab, go to that tab. You should see a view similar to the left screenshot below. Make sure the "Disable all enhancements" check box (red box) is unchecked, even if you don't use any of the enhancements in the list.
See that here: (it's one of the program's shortcuts in the start menu)
Equalizer APO / Documentation Wiki / Documentation
    which includes screenshots.

I understand the GUI option but which one of the GUI that I showed you should I download?

I agree that it will probably not make any difference but I want to give it a try. It is extremely frustrating when I have quite a powerful machine and something some simple doesn't work without any apparent reason.
Can you link me to your specific motherboard. It may turn out you need the UAD driver for that board as well as the Realtek Control Panel from the Microsoft store... Realtek Audio Console REQUIRES a Realtek HD (UAD) Driver!!.

And you shouldn't need any third party EQ for your system.

Not needed but it's great to have a built in system wide EQ (Windows 10 does not have one) that can be turned on/ off and supports multiple EQ sets.

Not all PCs get Realtek with an equaliser for example. It simply isn't there.

Note that I have also tried to change the values from config.txt but nothing seems to change
You're not supposed to change that. The GUI addons will make the required changes for you.

All you need to do is enable "Instant Mode" and choose devices.

Umm, to what does 'that' refer?

You've not posted any screenshots to show your settings..

Try with a different PC to see if you can get any equaliser working anywhere.

Else I think you'll need to connect your PC to suitable audio quipment with tone controls/physical equaliser.

Do you use "Realtek Audio Console" (access through the loudspeaker icon in systray) or the app "Realtek Audio Control" (which is accessed thorugh start > Realtek Audio Control) ?

Maybe you are using a non-UAD driver with a UAD control?
