I find 9116 has a somewhat muffled bass, and canned mids and highs sound.
But at least the compression isn't so bad as 9107 was.

    9045 is still tops
    Hi @Cliff S
I would like to give 9045 a try if it's Asus UAD (I have a Crosshair VI Hero), could you please send it?

BTW, I use the Digital Output of the M/B to an Amp via Optical which has an internal DAC. I listen to music, watch movies and play games this way. Does the Realtek driver also matters for the digital sound quality like in my case?

    Thanks!

I have no idea about the non-analog outputs because I only use analog output, but there is nothing for him to send.. you can get the driver from MUC, unzip it and in the device manager you install it with the update driver, have disk, etc. You can try searching with your hardware id dev string first. https://www.catalog.update.microsoft...x?q=6.0.9045.1

Thanks Sunspark, but I prefer to use the Asus UAD drivers with this motherboard (as MoKiChU also suggest to do), I'm used to the ROG GUI at this point... :)

Actually you cannot install UAD drivers from Microsoft Update Catalog as a standalone driver installation. MUC drivers don't have the extension inf's so you can't install the Realtek Audio Console app.

UAD drivers from MUC can only be used to update after you install the OEM UAD drivers.

Yes the Realtek driver will matter, as long as you use the motherboards outputs, and not the CPU or Graphics card HDMI output.

I only have copies of the Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3 MB) driverpacks.
But if you only want the Realtek driver you can use Device Manager to install it.

Microsoft has made changes so that when you install an older driver you MUST go to Device Manager and turn it on, as it now forces the newer one to stay on, unless you uninstall it first.

After turning it on, you can then nuke the old one; either through Device Manager, or DriverStoreExplorer

Good to know, thanks for the clarification.

Yes, the UAD - ASUS ROG SS3 drivers are the ones I need, having a ROG SS3 motherboard. Got 'em, thank you Cliff :)

I wish you a good day , i want to ask you a question on a subject. I am using Ge75 Raider 10SFS 293xtr model laptop , i also talked to msi technical service and local service but I could not find a solution to the speaker crackling and popping sound. First of all , there is a problem due to the driver change , there is a software problem , but I could not fix it , i wanted to ask you the cause of the problem , i would be glad if you could help...
