    Greetings,
I have an Asus Maximus VIII Hero motherboard and am pretty familiar with this Realtek Driver/Sonic Studio dance. However I have an issue with my 5.1 audio and want to make sure I install the right thing. Have not used my 5.1 audio that much for a while but before windows updates of the past few months I had 5.1 audio through my analog Logitech speakers. After a Youtube video had no audio I went into settings and all my distances and levels were gone and when I ran the test I only got audio out of the left and right speaker. It was set for 5.1 in both windows and the SupremeFX sound manager and I reset it up but still no sound. I know the hardware is working because I can get sound out of the speakers....fake surround out of stereo. Oddly even though I do not have any sonic enhancements on, or the windows enhancement, something is giving me fake surround playing music. Maybe the player.... But it proves amp and wiring is good and I have not changed any of that...

Asus has a new Realtek Audio driver version 6.0.1.8468. However I was not sure what to do with Sonic Studio as I am running version 2.2.36.41511 while the most current version they have is 2.2.28.

I don't use any enhancements, just want the 5.1 sound to work again.
Any suggestions if okay to just install the new driver with my current sonic suite? I am assuming a windows update broke this because I have not touched my Asus or Realtek stuff since it all worked...

    Thanks,
    BJB

what Win10 version are you using, BJB? run winver.exe and tell us the Win10 edition & version

8468 from Asus is actually an old HDA FF03 driver dated back to mid-June 2018
there was also this 6.0.1.8468 HDA FF03 driver for the Asus ROG Maximus X Code board released April 2019.

Just some information on the Sway I created for the ROG UAD drivers with SS3 integration.

While doing some cleaning on my system(folders and files) I also updated my OneDrive folder, and accidentally nuked it, about a month or so ago.

Today I got around to updating a machine I haven't used in a few months(and it's VMs), and quickly caught that it still had the Realtek folder and the Excel sheet I had made, and did some moving around and got those copied and redone(I needed to update all the links to the individual drivers), then I updated the Sway.

I now have the link to the Sway in my Profile under "Albums" on the left, as I only want access to be to forums members.
Just click the album link it will open to some text, and then just select the link address, right click it, and select go to.

It is the same as before, just new links(also the Sway has a new link), and still includes the instructions on how to clean install UAD, or better described, how to nuke HDA drivers and switch to UAD.

    MUC has 8890 UAD
8895 is there now but Win10 tells me that 8890 is the most up to date driver (in that it refuses to update to 8895).

here are the direct download links to the 8895 UAD cab files:

8895 UAD Gigabyte [I can use this on my Gigabyte board; adds support for IDs HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_1458A186 & HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_1458B000]

8895 UAD "generic" (includes the generic hdxrt.inf & hdxrtsst.inf files)

let's see if 8899 will be the next version that will show up on MUC by the end of March
