Thank you. First post updated.![]()
Long Time user of ye old CrapCleaner, sorry CCleaner.
We can all argue the benefits of using CCleaner..
Has anyone noticed that CC has not been updated for close to 3 months?
Just a guess, but there may be something in the works to accommodate the new upcoming Chromium Edge slated for mid January 2020. Since the existing Edge will be automatically removed when the new Edge goes on (my understanding....), the timing of any CCleaner or other vendors releases would be important.
Not sure about Ccleaner but you can add Chromium Edge cleaning rules to HDcleaner as per this post:
Microsoft Edge Insider preview builds are now ready for you to try
For anyone interested:
Get winapp2ool.exe from this link.
Winapp2/winapp2ool/bin/Release at master . MoscaDotTo/Winapp2 . GitHub
Drop it in Ccleaner directory:
On a 64bit machine that is here:
C:\Program Files\CCleaner
On a 32bit machine that is here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\CCleaner
Right click the winapp2ool.exe file and choose "Run as administrator"
Choose an option. You probably need Option 8
Then you can run Ccleaner. Added entries are marked with an asterisk.
Avoid volatile entries (Unless you know what you are doing)
If you select a volatile entry you should get a warning. If you don't know what this means then leave the entry unchecked.
I reckon that you should also avoid the .NET Framework options as choosing them might leave you unable to remove or repair .NET Framework if you ever need to.
EDIT:
Also note that Microsoft Edge Chromium entries should be listed under "Microsoft Edge Insider" if installed.
