Adobe Acrobat Pro and install directories

I am trying to install acrobat pro 2024 in directory A:\Applications\Productivity\Adobe\Acrobat Pro 2024. But everytime I try to do this Acrobat Says that installation directory is not empty . But that directory is empty. Is there a workaround for this? TIA John

Hi, a couple of elementary thoughts:
    a. Have you previously had this installed? If so, how did you uninstall it?
    - could there be leftovers affecting this attempt?
    b. If you are doing this to try to save space on C: be aware that even if you specify a different drive space will still be required on C:
    c. Splitting programs between different drives means that when you use disk imaging (as I hope you do) then your image criteria should ensure that both C: and A: are imaged at the same time, and restored at the same time to maintain consistency.

You may be better asking this on an Adobe forum.

Why are you "trying" (i.e. forcing?) to install it in that directory name? Is that the native directory for AA2024 (which I doubt)?

Some software error messages need to be taken with a touch of scepticism. It wouldn't be the first time that an error message doesn't quite mean exactly what it says, just that what you're trying to do can't/shouldn't be done, but the software doesn't have a better error indicator for the problem.

Try installing it natively. If that directory is empty, then delete it (I doubt whether it is empty, more than likely it has hidden system files, and/or protected operating files, in it). Remember, some software often requires installation in specific locations because of address factors and registry requirements. Too many possibilities going wrong when trying to change the natural order of things with some software

The workaround shared by some Adobe users, is to first create the entire destination path before installing there.

Part of what I see is the A:\, traditionally that was for the floppy disk drive when present. Sometimes the BIOS won't let that be any other use. I haven't had any issue with an older version of Acrobat installing on the D: drive [2TB HDD] I use for data storage and for programs too large for the C: system/boot drive.
