    I can no longer open .exe files


    I tried to open a RenPy game and a pop up asked me how I'd like to open this file so I browsed to the RenPy .exe and selected it. It did not work, but now EVERY .exe file is trying to open itself with RenPy. I cannot open anything on the other computer now.

    I googled and saw multiple youtube videos that start with "Open Regedit blah blah" but that's a .exe and it asks me how I want to open it and if I knew how to open it...I wouldn't be trying to open it? Sorry, I'm trying to be descriptive as possible, but I'm losing my mind and I was too stupid for words to begin in.

    P.S. it says include you Windows Version number, but windows key + R -> Run -> winver ends in a "How would you like to open this .exe file?!

    Hello, and welcome.

    You could try using option two in the tutorial below to restore the default association for exe in the table to fix this.
