how to keep icons on the taskbar

i have win10 and for some reason when i start the my radar app form the microsoft store the icon does not show on the taskbar.

if i hover over that spot the app pops up and it shows but as soon as i move the mouse away it drops and the icon is still missing. it was there before all the updates.

i just got this pc and it had to run all the updates. so it may be in one of them. outside of restoring back to no updates might someone happen to know how to get that icon to show? or might i have to undo each update until i found the one that may be the issue? thanks

can you right click on it and select pin to taskbar?

i have it pinned to the taskbar and there is a blue line under the location that icon hold there but the icon does not show

Right click on where the icon appears it should be > right click on the program name in that popup > Properties > Change icon

i do not get that option all that show is unpin if i hover the icon shows above that spot but i can't right click it for properties. i can go to the desktop app and right click and get properties and change the icon but that new icon will not show on the taskbar. it will change on the desktop

ok update i deleted the desktop shortcut because i could not delete the pinned shortcut on the taskbar it had a circle with a line thru it so in working the issue i deleted the desktop short cut and used the menu to start my radar and now it shows on the taksbar and i can unpin and repin. so lets see how long this holds up.

ok tha might be so but this is a brand new drive with nothing on it but for chrome my radar my ip camera app. so it should not have icon cache issue yet. i get this on 2 laptops one alldocube and that hp probook i just got. none of the other laptops do this.

but after to deleted the desktop icon it now seems to show on the taskbar. kind of strange. thanks much
