Microsoft Store app updating
Is there a way to regulate it? I know how to do it manually, but sometimes I go there when I have an app that isn't behaving right, and there are numerous other apps that need updating.

You can enable or disable that, but it has a built in schedule.
Turn On or Off Automatic Updates for Apps in Windows 10 Store
It's one of those things meant to happen in the background.
As stated here:
Reddit on Store app updates
Already enabled. I don't want a schedule, I just want it to update within a reasonable amount of time.
I suppose there is a traffic managing component here that must be regulated, like Windows Update, but it's not unusual for there to be dozens of apps in the library waiting to be updated.
WU is responsible for background updates to installed Store apps. Unfortunately the only provided control is to allow all Store apps to update, or none at all. When you disable automatic updates, it's up to you to manually update them:
1. Launch Store App and manually start updates for any outdated apps.
2. Open a CMD window, and run "winget upgrade --all --include-unknown"
This might work, but has problems because winget can't reliably read a Store app's version correctly.
3. From the same GitHub issues thread, someone suggested this PowerShell (Admin) command:
Code:Get-CimInstance -Namespace "Root\cimv2\mdm\dmmap" -ClassName "MDM_EnterpriseModernAppManagement_AppManagement01" | Invoke-CimMethod -MethodName UpdateScanMethod
And thank you for your reply.
Whether the schedule is running or not is another matter- and whether your PC is on and the internet connected for the schedule to run and download updates.
Have you determined whether the existing scheduled update is working effectively?
When you look here:
- do you normally see some modified 'today' - or within a day or so at least?
Well that's tough. It's already built in.I don't want a schedule,
Do you mean you want to disable it?
I get it. My bad. I interpreted/misread about "schedule", thinking you referring to a user imposed schedule. I checked for app modifications. The history has series of wide gaps between updates, i.e.
but that won't help much. There's a simple explanation for that example, and probably others. The results often don't reflect an accurate accounting because it's not uncommon for me to restore a Macrium Image. In that case, I had restored an 11-27-23 image on 1/10.
I'm gonna keep an eye on it tho to see whatever patterns I can discern from in the intervals.
Thanks once again.

That's cool. Is it possible to create a .bat file for that?
There will be no visible output or change in appearance. Windows Update is silently doing its job in the background, just like it would normally do before you disabled automatic updates.
But if you open the Store App, you might see a few apps which are updating by themselves.
I sometimes have an app that isn't behaving right. Resetting it almost always fixes it.
