alternatives for Norton Utilities and Norton Anti-Track

I've been a long-time Norton customer but I'm getting really p---ed at the way they keep pushing new products on me, etc.

Guy I know at a computer repair shot recommended Eset for security, and I'm OK with that. But I need a replacement for Norton Utilities and Norton anti-track. Suggestions?

Bitdefender Internet Security does all that and more. It has 13 modules, I only use three of them.

Bitdefender Internet Security - Internet Security Software

    Protection...
    Antivirus
    Advanced Threat Defense
    Online Threat Prevention
Vulnerability <---- I never use these things
    Firewall
    Ransomware Remediation
    Antispam

    Privacy...
    Safepay
    VPN (pay, I believe) (free - 200 MB/day/device)
    Password Manager (trial)
    Video & Audio Protection
    Anti-tracker
    Parental Control

The only modules I use are the AV, Advanced Threat Protection and the Firewall.

Because I can get a lot of maintenance done in one program. Saves time. That said, I'm at least 200% open to alternatives.

I suggest you list those of your requirements that are not fulfilled by Windows security itself.
Then suitable utilities can be identified.

When I brought in a laptop for a screen repair, I also asked the tech about security. "Is Microsoft Defender good enough?" His reply was that Defender was weak on anti-malware. He recommends the Eset Security suite, because he doesn't like how Norton Security slows down a PC.

But I need to keep in mind that my original post was about Norton Utilities and Anti-Track, not a replacement for Norton Security. In my previous post I forgot to mention that this tech also like MalwareBytes.

    Antivirus - Windows Defender
Malware - personal responsibility, practice safe computing (besides, there is no such thing as absolute protection)
System maintenance - manual housekeeping responsibility, built-in Windows resources.

That is incorrect. Defender is as effective as the other leading utilities.

Thank you. That AV-TEST page has changed my opinion of MS Defender. I guess a tech at a hardware repair shop can't always be up to date on security software. So I won't renew my Norton Security suite. I will keep using MalwareBytes.

But as for my wanting a replacement for Norton Utilities, there is a certain convenience to a utilities suite. It comes down to am I willing to spend a reasonable amount of money for a utility suite that is both reliable and saves me the time to do the maintenance. Also the time to sort out and test alternatives. I can't exactly say that I have lots of free time.

I have this "project list," both applications/Windows/hardware, other interests and home chores, and it only keeps getting longer and longer. Unfortunately, even AI can't show you how to sleep only 2 hours a night in a 39 hour day.

Quite frequently, opinions (and they are just that !) on anti-malware software are purely subjective rather than objective.

Given the technological advancements and sophistication of Windows 10/11, many of the system maintenance options previously required (like disk/system/program cleanups, defragmentation, et al) are unnecessary and even if not used, still leave little effect on the running of a reasonably good system with an SSD.
