I just installed Norton Anti-Tracker, after being disappointed with the AVG Anti-Tracker product. However, when it ran for the first time, it did not detect existing trackers.
I already have Norton 360 (or something similar) which has often reminded me about the trackers already installed on my system and that Norton Anti-Tracker is the solution.
Norton trying to upsell you useless garbage. All you need for browser extesnions are UBO and Malwarebytes Browser Guard, one for ads one for protection.
Classic Norton predatory aggressive marketing. Just don't have anything to do with this product brand (when the current license expires).**

Norton 360 itself is just fine. No need to buy their unnecessary add-ons.
I always browse in Firefox Private Mode, and when a site does not work correctly, I disable the Enhanced Tracking or use MS Edge.
When a tracker company sells anti-tracking, rofl, they already include a cryptominer and have "a history".
Aside from extensions, you can also use DNS at a system level or in a browser, like NextDNS or ControlD.
As the OP I feel the obligation to post an update.
This morning Norton Anti-Tracker ran and indeed, it did block over 200 sites, so after a delay, it does meet my expectations.
That said I am also annoyed by Norton's incessant, "breathless" upsell attempts. I have been a Norton customer since the 1990s, when I used the DOS versions of Norton Utilities. The "old" Norton didn't behave this way, but the Norton/Symantec consumer products were recently sold off and merged with the company that does Lifelock. I always thought that Lifelock ads were shrill and exaggerated, and I'm afraid that the Norton security products are managed by Lifelock management.

So many programs both free and paid contain quite a bit of bloat. You have to "tame" them.
Agree completely. I always pay close attention to check boxes (tick boxes) on any install program. For complex software I look at options that are installed now, or on first use, or not at all.
