    Windows application error (unknown exception)

Win q0 21H2 (Win 10 Pro x64). Last week, when I tried to update (free) Flashback Express 6.12 to 6.14, after clicking on Update it started and then disappeared. At the time and since, other programs have updated w/o problem. I tried again today and got the same result. So I uninstalled the program with Revo Pro, rebooted and tried the 6.14 install fresh. This time I got the attached Exception error. Googling the exception number led me to try running .NET repair tool, which apparently found nothing. I also tried reinstalling the latest .NET framework (7.09), but nothing changed re FE. Right now, I can't tell if this is a one-off specific program error or something more general. Any ideas?

Feel free to try the usual checks on your system of course.
(3rd party disk check, chkdsk, SFC /SCANNOW, RAM check).

Aparrently Flashback Express is a screen recorder. Plenty of those around if you have problems. Suggest you stay with the version you have and wait for a while if your only problem is with 1 3rd party program.

I do wonder why you're still on 21H2- 22H2 has been around for a long time. Is Windows Update working?

If it was, you shouldn't have to worry about doing this:
I also tried reinstalling the latest .NET framework

As I made clear, I uninstalled it, so I can't stick with the previous version, at least without doing a system restore. And for some reason, those seem to fail (those done via Restore Point Creator or Revo Uninstall Pro). Since I check for Windows updates every day, I'm confident that the current Win 10 version is 21H2. Checked using winver.exe.

Thank you so much for your polite reply.

And as I made it clear, do basic checks on your system.

There is absolutely no reason to waste your time doing Windows Update checks every day. That is entirely pointless. Indeed I ensure I DON'T receive preview updates in group policy.

And that doesn't explain why your Windows version is out of date.

Thanks. If 22H2 is current, and a search suggests it is, then it's strange that MS is presenting me with 21H2, the last one being the June Cumulative on June 13. The reason I check frequently is for MS Defender updates, which come daily and sometimes twice a day.

chkdsk and scannow run as admin found no problems. I've had no other problems, although right now and earlier this site's File Upload Manager is not showing a screenshot without me closing and reopening Manage Attachments.

Update: I've just installed 22H2 via the Windows Update Assistant. The Flashback Express error is still there. I'll write them.
