dell support assist

I have tried repeatedly to uninstall dell support assist. It is from programs and features but not totally i tried in reg but could not find it there. did it with revo uninstaller and iobit but these things are still in services so i do not think it is totally removed see attachment for what is still in r services. I have had 4 dell techs try and fix it because it was not working hey all failed. I ran the installer again and it said my support assist was up to date now haw can that be if it is uninstalled? How do i totally remove it from my computer and get thosE things out of services. Thank you for any help. Also i do not find it in wowo64 or program files but in one drive which i have but it is not in sys wow64 or programm files but in one drive which i have disable but not uninstalled

why is it still running on my computer if supposedly uninstalled and why did when i try to install and try uninstalling does it sa it is up to date

my computers operating system was reinstall a month ago and the tech was able to transfer everything over from a backup not sure if that is the reason

Part of Support Assist is used in the POST (Power On Self Test). The error codes that are generated if there is an error are generated by Support Assist. You don't want it completely gone. Just disabling startup in Windows "tames it".

If you want to uninstall it, do it with the Windows uninstaller and it will leave the POST part intact (what it does from reports on the Dell support forums).

You would have to manually edit registry to remove ALL entries. Even Revo Uninstaller Pro won't remove every program entry.

I work the Dell forums and left over registry entries has never been an issue that I've seen. I added a link to the Dell FAQ page for SA to my original post.

I have to agree. I've seen far more posts here and elsewhere where Dell Support Assist has been the cause rather than the solution of Dell device issues. I'm now a Dell-only Windows (and Linux) user and don't have Dell Support Assist on any of my many devices.
