Link to Windows fails to generate QR code

My new phone was linked to windows at one point but stopped connecting. So I removed the phone on the PC and the PC in the phone app to start from scratch. When I get to the PC app trying to generate the QR code it either fails, saying "it's not you it's us..try again later", or hangs. Same results with a PIN. My MS account shows my PC as the only device.

I have never had a problem using Phone Link with My Samsung S21 when connecting to any of my desktop computers using a wired network connection or my laptops using a wireless connection. Note if there is a problem I just remove the respective devices on both ends and tried again.

BTW, I am using my ASUS laptop with Phone Link but it is not a registered device for my Microsoft account.

I've done all of those and I still don't get a QR code. The screen says "Something went wrong. It's not you, it's us. We're experiencing service issues, so please try again later." It never works later.

Is your phone properly supported by Phone Link? Only Samsung plus a few other are.

Supported devices for Phone Link app experiences

Have you tried reinstalling Phone Link and Link to Windows?

I have a Galaxy S21+. Link to Windows is permanently installed. I opened the settings for the app on the PC, repaired it and reset it. It's working fine now.
    Thank you.
