i use both too i collapsed and took a 5TB external HDD WD
and 128 GB USB 3.0 DataTraveler key but maybe that they go in hiccups in transfers I'm trying to figure out if they are faulty or if there is something wrong with the pc

I always go with Corsair USB sticks.
If I just need a small quickie/possibly disposable, I go with PNY

I have a 15 year old Corsair Voyager GT (red) 16GB... hasn't had any problems.
And I just got the Corsair GTX 256GB... so far, so good, and as fast as an internal 2.5" SSD.

Having so many files to burn, is there an app that automatically calculates how to divide them to avoid wasting space on DVDs?
Not a good idea to do that anyway as you must allow space for TOC to be written at the end.

The size of the TOC is not really known until the files have been burned.

I learned that 20 years ago when burning a first CD with Nero which I had set to logging the burn.
Carefully chosen 699 MB of files for a 700 MB disc. It failed. Looking at the burning log it failed to write the TOC(table of contents) towards the end.
Never forgotten that valuable lesson, subsequently leaving around 10 MB spare on CDs, more for DVDs.

"128 GB USB 3.0 DataTraveler key "I have 2 of those. 1 takes 50 min to write, the other almost 2 hours with 1 GB test files (H2testw v1.4). They are very bogé standard. Similar variations in SanDisk ones in the same generic price bin.
