Video editing for dummies (I'm the dummy...lol)

    Good morning everyone.

    I'm looking for a recommendation.

When it comes to video editing, whatever level is before novice, that's me.

I had a good relationship with Windows Movie Maker, but now that it's gone, I have to try something else.

I have Video Editor on my computer and it might have served my needs if not for one thing.

One time I uploaded a video to YouTube (many years ago) so I was able to take a MP3, and then add pictures of the artist on it over the track. It was simple, and I liked how it came out.

I want to do something for Tik Tok, but I don't want to record video, I just want to have an audio track and then add pictures and maybe video clips in between. Video Editor won't work unless it's a photo or video, and I also tried Open Shot video editor, but it's very buggy and hard to use, despite some article I read saying it was easy.

For my style of video editing, what would be the best editor to use now that Windows Movie Maker is no more. I would prefer free, but I don't mind paying a reasonable price if it does what I need it to do.

    Thanks for your help!

Cool, I'll give it a look!

I went to their site to try and download it and Malwarebytes gave me a Trojan Horse warning. Is there somewhere else I can try to download it?

It uses a web installer. It's a false positive.

    VirusTotal

It uses some unsigned files. Anything with lower than 5 detections is considered a false positive.
