    Windows Store Doesn't Work


    I'm trying to get Windows Movie Maker from the store, but it's not working. When I try to open the store, it closes after a couple of seconds. I did some searching and found that if you hit the windows key plus R, and put wsreset.exe into the box and hit enter, the store will open and I can search for Windows Movie Maker. But when I try to click Windows Movie Maker, it hangs for a couple seconds then shuts down.

    If I go and try to open the store again, it does the same not opening as before.

    Is there anywhere to get the actual Windows Movie Maker that's NOT the microsoft store ?

    Photos has replaced Movie Maker and does more.
    There are sites offering to supply Movie Maker,whether the site and programme are genuine is at your risk.

    I've done that but it doesn't work. Guess I'm out of luck.

    What did the troubleshooter report?

    No screenshots from you to indicate what happened, alas.

    If you create a new user for test purposes and log in as that user, does the Store work then?

    When did the Store stop working?
    Do you have a System Restore point created before that you can use?

    Otherwise see
    Store App opens loads for about a second then closes

    And you can always perform an in-place upgrade repair install which like any upgrade procedure keeps all apps and data. For this you need an iso file of the same major build and base language as you have installed. Tutorials available.

    You didn't respond to this forum prompt, the build is key to the above.

    I don't know when the store stopped working. I've never used it for anything. Also, I don't have any restore points that I'm aware of.

    Have you looked at and used what I posted? Store App opens loads for about a second then closes

    I asked for your Windows version as did the forum.

    If the store doesn't work in the new user account proceed to do an in-place upgrade repair install as above. You Windows version is key to that. Unknown.
