    Quesstion abouut SyncToy

    Just curious!
If after running SyncToy it tells you that it, say, deleted 4 files, is there any way of finding out exactly which four files were deleted (renamed, new, etc.)? Just curious, never lost a single file in 3 years. Thanks in advance for all replies.
    Tony.

I use SyncToy religiously every night before backup. Just part of my routine. I am not aware of any way to "capture" the detail of what has happened. But..... there is a way of capturing what is going to happen. Run same folder pair sync in Preview mode and all will be displayed. Then the run, if done right after without leaving synctoy, will be quicker.

Deleted files can be seen if you choose to send them to the Recycle Bin.

Side note: If you're experiencing slowness in the whole process and are running the x64 version, switch to the x86 version. X64 version has not been updated for a decade and gets confused sometimes with the newer x64 dlls and code. I switched and x86 is much quicker.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
You know, after all these years I had never noticed the preview option. You have satisfied my curiosity. Thanks again. I shall mark this thread as solved.
    Stay safe.
