    I noted two things:
    a. if I try to view a reminder for more than 6 months in advance in Calendar I see:

My live id email address isn't an MS account. There are similar reports on the net.

    b. With everything set to UK, and a British English accent spoken, if Cortana doesn't understand me setting the time first time, Cortana prompts me with

'What time der yer wanner be reminded?'
or if Cortana doesn't understand what I want reminding about
    'What der yer wanner remember?'

    - in a sort of version of American, in a British accent.

Superbly polished I don't think! Time to revert to reliable 3rd party solutions.

It seems that Microsoft is getting worse and worse and worse.

Bill Gates left the company in the hands of Steve Ballmer. Disaster!

Then came Satya Nadella. But he's a cloud guy. For all he cares ... Windows can jump off a cliff. And it has!

I think it's time for Windows to retire. Put a Windows UI on top of Linux and call it a day.
Put an end to feature updates, which are useless and serve only to break things.
    STOP ALREADY!

I find that setting up reminders or events in calendar works fine.
Yeah, I'll try with Calendar now. Hope it works better.

You should be ok with that provided you are using an MS email account as a live id for your login. See my post above.

Using Calendar events and they seem more reliable and precise. The only problem is, Windows Calendar app, doesn't have reminders, so I'm using my reminder as an "event".
