    Hey there's no problem unless there's a security fix required or a bug fix that affects your system.

    I'm only talking about PotPlayer and not other updates for other software.

    Anyway I just installed softpedia version. No codecs were installed even though I selected the option to install codec pack. It detected that they were already installed.

    Updated fine. Settings were retained. I got the 32bit version.

    I enabled the "remember video playback positions" setting too. I usually get interrupted frequently when viewing videos, so this is a very useful setting for me.
