    Stop Apps running when Windows 10 starts


    Hi i have two apps that runs on windows startup.
    I do not seem to be able to stop them i have run the Task Manager then the start-up tab and they are not listed in there, then i went to Settings then apps and they are not in there

    I know i could just delete then but i do use them now and again but i don't need them running every time i start windows

    So how do i stop them please

    Hi, the most detailed view you have of your startups is provided by Autoruns (free from MS).

    Assuming you know what the app or program or process is about which you are concerned, you can search the list displayed.

    However, some processes are launched using the Task Scheduler.

    To get a searchable linear view of scheduled tasks, download and run Fulleventlogview by Nirsoft.

    What are the apps/programs/processes about which you are concerned?

    Hi thanks for the reply the two that i want to stop running are

    1 Audible download manager this downloads audible audiobooks but as i only get 1 book per month so i dont need it running all the time

    2 is Garmin express i only update my satnav about once every 6 months so i don't need that running all the time

    Hello Sam,

    You could delete or disable these apps from your Startup items to stop them from running at startup. Double check the Startup locations in the tutorial below to see if they may be listed in them to do so.

    To repeat the two means of stopping things I suggested running other than using the task manager I suggested:
