Uninstalling / reinstalling the app and fiddling with the transparency had no effect.
I am sorry I failed make this happen on my systems

I did find the below on another site

    Go to - C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer

    Here you will see a lot of files like iconcache_32.db, iconcache_48.db, iconcache_96.db, iconcache_256.db, iconcache_1024.db, iconcache_1280.db, iconcache_1600.db, iconcache_wide_alternate.db, etc.

Delete them all to purge and rebuild your icon cache in Windows 10. If you were to be able to delete some of theme, you would now be able to see a new folder created named IconcacheToDelete, which will disappear when you reboot your computer or restart Windows File Explorer.

If they all don't delete, Click start, type “cmd” - right click and run as admin

    Then paste this:

    cd /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer attrib –h iconcache_*.db del iconcache_*.db start explorer

Reboot, and see if your icons are back. Try to unpin and pin again.

    and

    Run the Start menu troubleshooter:

    Microsoft - Official Home Page

    If that does not work:

    Press Windows key + X
    Click Task Manager
    Select the Processes tab
Scroll down to Windows Explorer then select it
    Click Restart

    If that does not work:

    uninstall your display driver:

    Press Windows key + X
    Click Device Manager
    Expand Display adapters
Right click the current display adapter
    Click Uninstall
    Exit Device Manager
    Restart

I already did the icon cache delete fix. I have this issue on several PCs so it looks like a bug which I've reported via the feedback hub

You could try resetting the Calculator app.

If that fails, then you could try reinstalling it.
