I've not been able to find any mention of this problem with 1809 yet. I had no problem running the update. Tried turning firewall off - no help. Tried re-registering Store - no help. Needless to say my internet connection is fine. I also verified that both SKype and Windows Store are in the list of apps allowed through the Defender firewall.

Just to check- do you have a VPN configured?

I have no VPN set up. But I'm quite sure it is a network related problem because the new Your Phone app says "You'll need the Internet for this" and "It doesn't look like you're connected to the Internet. Check your connection and try again."

That's how I first discovered the problem - I wanted to test this out because I do a lot of phone ==> PC file transfers using a phone app. I just verified that I can still do those transfers OK.

I just downloaded and installed Classic Skype Ver. 7.41.0.101 and it works OK.

Thanks dalchina - the first one had no effect. The second one has a lot of things to try, but before I try those I'm going to try running Safe Mode with networking.

I'll try the fixes mention in your second option.

Thanks- don't take the obvious simple steps that haven't worked in those threads.
Microsoft Store says t - Microsoft Community
    - 3rd from bottom - it worked for the last poster- if you can understand the horribly phrased post!

Likewise the other- you're looking for things that worked rather than the MS routine knee-jerk reactions.

    OMG!

    Changing

    Settings/Network & Internet/Change connection properties/Network Profile

from Private to Public fixed it.

Is this the craziest thing you've ever seen? Totally bizarre for sure.

Credit to the guy who somehow tried it and fixed it... hmm.
    Glad it worked out.
Time to update your specs here to 1809?

Yup - but that tab seems to have no way to add/update anything.

Never mind - I found out how to tweak it.
