Hi Reflexwolf. Welcome to the TenForums @Reflextwolf.

None of the options for window reset will save your programs. An inplace repair saves programs and data.

One is a full reset, one says save your data files.

Data files do not include your apps / programs.

Did you re-install program after reset? If you already have re-installed see if vendor has a complete removal tool. Then re-install.

    Welcome to TenForums @Reflexwolf,

If you didn't reinstall, then the how did you try to run it? A Reset would have removed all installed apps, only leaving your user files.

The install files for your v.5.0.89 are available here...

ok to clarify, I have reinstalled it after the reset, several times now, using Revio to uninstall it and all traces of it. I followed the links Bree gave and downloaded a fresh copy of the install. on installing it it did the same thing as before. its doing it with all the builds of Living cookbook I have access to and get the same thing happening, I have also tried running the program with win 7 and win 8 compatibility. its very frustrating. the web sites help page is not working for livingcookbook.com or I would have asked them for help.

I hate the way Settings leads you to Fresh Start which resets Windows when there is the largely unknown option of Repair Install which preserves your programs.

    From their site:
System Requirements | Living Cookbook 2015

    Software Requirements

    •Windows XP SP3, Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8.

I tried running the installer (no compatibility mode) and got
program not working after resetting win 10-1.jpg

If not in Win 10, you could run it in a virtualised OS.

Tried again after troubleshooting compatibility- installed ok in Win 7 compatibility mode.

I ran the installer lcsetup50.exe (not using compatibility mode) and it installs without error on my test machine (Windows 10 v1803 x86 17134.228).

Perhaps it likes you - or your PC.. or maybe there's some other program or configuration at stake on mine- which is still 1709.

What does Troubleshoot Compatibility make of it on yours?

Well, both the installer and Living Cookbook ran without any compatibility warnings. When I ran the compatibility troubleshooter it said Windows 7.
