I have installed an app called Folder Size, which shows folder sizes in Windows 10. It is installed but does not appear in the My Programs list.
How can I invoke the app manually?
It would be difficult to trace its installation folder and invoke through its exe file.
Normally, it starts automatically with a Windows startup, but I shut it down manually later from the right bottom tray.

If you like, you could "Pin to Start" or "Pin to taskbar" the .exe file for this program to have a shortcut of it there.

a. Are disciplined about where programs are installed (if there's a choice- a few don't offer that)
b. Use one of the often recommended free find-as-you-type programs such as
Locate32; Ultrasearch; Everything by voidtools.

Dalchina, you pointed correctly that I should always see where a new app is installed.
Sometimes, it happened to me that I just clicked default choices for instillation and the program folder name was not that of the app name but different (probably the manufacturer name). I later found it impossible to locate the installed app from the long list of folders in the Programs folder or the Programs x86 folder.
For example, you want a particular type of file to be associated / opened by a specific app only and you find that its not listed in the choices of selection through the 'Open With' option invoked through right click. Thus you need to point out the location of the exe file of the app for Windows to associate the app with that type of file. In these cases also you need to know the install location of an app.

If a program is configured by the author to register itself as potentially capable of handling a particular extension, next time you double click that extension you will be prompted to confirm your choice of default program. Some find this annoying.
Not all programs are set up like that- a particular case is portable programs (no registry entries).
In these cases, it's necessary to browse to the exe to select it.
I install my programs in a range of folders - categories- e.g.
Drivers
Maintenance (sub-folders.....)
Multimedia (sub-folders Audio, Convertors, Photos, Players...Video)
Office (sub-folders PDF, Scan & OCR, Printing...)
Utilities (.....)
etc
This structure is reflected in my start menu (note- I use a start menu replacement as I can't use Win 10's start menu for that as the level to which folders are nested is a little too deep for it or any Win10 start menu emulator to handle - put another way, moving to Win 10, I found it couldn't handle my existing start menu correctly- thank you MS!!).
Create a shortcut to c:\windows\explorer.exe shell:appsfolder. This will show all programs & apps on your PC. You can right click the one you want and create a new shortcut to it from there.
