    Hi, in build 1803 there is a problem for some with setting defaults, seemingly related to one update.

    If you now have 1803 that may affect you.
    What is your Windows build?
    Windows key + r, winver

    Please try resetting the association to default for the affected file type(s):
    Restore Default File Type Associations in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials
    Post a screenshot of the relevant registry data.

    Then try changing one to a familiar well-known programs. Document the steps used.

    Report the result and post a screenshot of the relevant registry data.

    Note: you can jump to the relevant registry key using
    Filtypesman (free, download and install).

    Try uninstalling this update: kb4462919. Note that 2 people have said hiding it (stopping it being reinstalled) doesn't succeed...

    Problem is, before my machine even got wind of the kb4462919 update, I did use the windows update diagcab troubleshooter to hide that update, but windows update still found it, and still applied it;
    If you can't set Photoviewer as default, compromise and choose something else.

    Too many problems battling MS bugs at the moment.
