The big update for Windows 10 today (SR1) appears to have resolved the issue.
They provided contact information on their website. They did send me a new driver to test, I'm having trouble logging into their FTP site to get it though. Will post an update.

I thought it had worked and then I got a DNS error after my laptop came out of sleep mode a second time. My new ethernet adapter should arrive Tuesday, knowing my luck Realtek will post updated...
Put your laptop to sleep and see if your connection is stable once you resume from sleep. Mine is fine until the laptop goes to sleep.
I just upgraded my other laptop to Windows 10 that has a Qualcomm 8131 onboard ethernet and it works just fine so this is clearly a driver issue with Realtek. Lets just hope a new driver is released...
has anybody tried running an older driver in compatibility mode for windows 8?

I believe I may have resolved the issue for Realtek PCIe GBE cards, just disable energy efficiency and green ethernet settings in the advanced settings of the properties section.
