That was a long time ago and Opera was great.
It's a shame the browser competition has been reduced to this (Opera using Chrome) and hopefully soon GOOGLE won't produce/distribute a browser...
Thx DustSailer, I agree and appreciate your answer, however certain types of questions just aren't really worth answering, at least on the net.
After Adobe Reader became bloated and bad I used...
With time, almost every piece of software becomes bloated through adware, spyware, and unneeded functions that aren't included as optional plugins. Foxit Reader included, end of story. You can...
Touche, however this was not always the case, and since you didn't admit this, you're just as lame or whatever you intended to show. Again full disclosure. I might be mistaken, but not absolutely and...
Not that this fixes the issue noted, I was wondering... I've seen others suggest 0.0.0.0, why 0.0.0.0 and not 127.0.0.1? Thx.
Anyone can disagree, however VMware isn't easier and you can't create VMs with VMware Player, that's why it's free. Doh!
Overall, use what you want, but I don't think VMware is as useful or better...
I want to do this too and I remember reading of a way, however I might be mistaken. Hopefully, someone will respond and let us know.
Thanks for the post/notice.
Uh, M$ Reader isn't included in W10, however it's in the Windows Store, free, and can open PDFs. Adobe Acrobat Reader is so bloated, why is anyone still using it?
Also, Foxit Reader is just as...
Aero Glass is nice to look at, however the nags and watermarks suck and thus overall, Aero Glass sucks. I hope M$ includes more Glass UI in future updates so that I can delete Aero Glass for good.
VMware Workstation/Windows is NOT free. Please don't suggest or imply it is. VMware Player is available for home users with a free license, but it's not the same exact thing as Hyper-V or VirtualBox....
If you're 100% sure it's network related you could try:
Turn off automatic updates for the OS itself and the Windows Store.
Disable QoS, specifically, QoS Reserved Bandwidth.
Disable...
Anyone else think CCleaner is now bloated and no longer the tool it once was?
Currently, are there any nasty bugs in CCleaner on W10?
I want to use CCleaner, however I'm wondering how well W10...
I don't want preview updates, however I didn't know that, thx.
In time, conversion might be the best option, however for now, I and probably others prefer to open the HLP files natively in W10. Converting can take time, maybe lots if there are a lot of HLP files...
Doh! Why use VMware when M$ Hyper-V (in W10Pro only) and VirtualBox are free?
It's really great you're trying to help people help you. <sarcasm>
Before my 1st post in this thread, I read the thread and didn't see a explanation why virtualization won't/doesn't work. So I ask...
Can someone please provide instructions on how to do this with the latest winhlp32 from a fully updated W8.1 install? Thx.
I haven't seen an option to disable forced reboots for updates or at least require a button click before restarting. M$ needs to fix this by at least providing options. Thanks for pointing this out.
This happened to me and if you search online you should find others with the same issue and possible fixes.
I was able to fix it, but don't know which command actually did fix this issue for me....
Why can't you run whatever you want/need to run in XP via virtualization (Hyper-V or VirtualBox).
Can someone compare the winhlp32 EXE from a fully updated Windows 8.1 computer with the to the ones provided in this thread? Thx.
I think the previous user is more correct than you are in that Stardock generally doesn't update often (of course some exceptions excluded like Start8). An example is WindowFX, it hasn't been updated...
Stardock, if you're reading this, I would rather have WindowFX updated for Windows 10.
Also, if anyone has a solution for placing a custom, cascading, expanding, pop-out sub-menu on the Start Menu...
