With the arrival of new CPU....you're going to have to wipe the HDD and clean install OS and install drivers from mobo DVD.
Same platform all he has to do is drop it in
There is no need to go through that but i do recommend he get more than one stick of ram which might be the problem all along

Agreed....but I've always done that......just something I do and recommend. It may not be necessary but beneficial up front.

I totally agree with you on the RAM.....being that it's a dual channel board and only using one channel. Top that off with the fact that the Ryzen series are a bit buggy.

Looking up that mobo manual, there's nothing in there to indicate one way or the other as to the RAM setup. It just shows you how to install the RAM. There are some notes in RED that talks about frequency/voltage limitations and settings.

His manual is about as useful as a handful of magic beans ha

I had to look real hard for that QVL anyway i think in a whole his system can't handle 1T and him having 8GB he should try the slot dancing game and try other slots it could a bad one those are the only other options but i also think his cpu was bottlenecking even though Jayztwocents says otherwise

Some of these ryzen 1300x paired with 1060 3Gb cards show very high usage almost max pretty much which tells me a cpu shouldn't work that hard at 1080p

Just about spit my coffee out I laughed so hard....LOL!

May be down to just bad hardware.....ie cpu/mobo/GPU.

As a side note: I love it when users say they have a high in custom built PC and then give to the specs that are no better than an off the shelf OEM tower. It just kills me to know end.... they think if they spent upwards of $700 that it's top shelf. I think that's enough venting.

NO disrespect to you or your build ablao.

They have a name scheme for it now so actually you have

    #2 Mid Range `1400 1400x 1500 1500x I3 G4 Gtx 1050ti 1060 Rx470-480 570

In a nutshell they seem to make this into a tier system by hardware from what i been seeing

There would be at least another tier before your #1, Office machine where only requirement is to be stable and reliable. Another thing is that borders of those tiers could be blurred with careful OC and setup. That's what I usually do. Take as good components as I can afford and try to make it jump into next bracket.

Read this whole thread and don't believe it took nearly two weeks and 8 pages before a new poster with 1 post stated the obvious, the 8 GB of RAM he has installed is at or nearly full. That right there would cause all kinds of unnecessary pagefile usage, which would go a long way to explaining the problem.

Also only a single stick of 8 GB RAM instead of 2x4 GB would help.

Another thing is that Ryzen loves memory bandwidth and he only has 2133. At a minimum should be using 2666. 3200 is even better, but with the insane memory prices right now, if you have to compromise somewhere, using 266 won't hurt anywhere near as much as 2133.

The GTX 1060 3 GB isn't helping matters either. A few of the games listed by the OP can and will use more than that if the game settings are too high, causing the frame drops and lag. It will also cause the card to dip into system memory, which is far slower than the memory on the card.
