The disks I'm using are DVD+R 4.7 GB. That should be enough to hold the ISO. After the burn there was still some space left. I can try it with IMGBurn if you think it will help.
It would rule out a badly created DVD from the native Windows Burner. All it would cost is your time. Your choice.

As Navy said....do it at the slowest speed possible....4X or 6X

I think F14TomCat may be right that the disk won't run because it is EFI as opposed to Legacy BIOS. Any thoughts?

I would do as he suggested and use IMGBurn to make a new ISO DVD.
The last time I did a clean install on my lappy I did the exact thing and it worked perfectly.

As you say its late, take a break and start fresh in the morning.
    You will get this done.

Okay, so I am making progress. The IMGBurn disk is working (write speed 4x as suggested and the disk was verified), but I think the real problem was user error. When booting from the DVD previously, I got concerned staring at the W10 logo for what seemed like a long time, so I restarted. This was my bad. Allowing the disk to run longer finally resulted in the appropriate installation sequence. I removed all partitions except the small OEM reserved partition, which was quite small. The system is installing now. Fingers crossed. My next post should be from my desktop instead of the iPad.

All is well! The system is up and running and my disk space is recovered. Thank you all so much for your help and patience. I feel like I dragged you through a lot of hoops when the problem was really my own lack of patience in allowing the DVD to finish booting. I'm in the process of recovering apps and data. Hopefully I won't be back here again with other problems.

Cheers to all and thanks again.

Augi, you come back any time! You can help others, too. Maybe you'll see somebody in the same boat you were in and can give some advice! I'm really happy to hear you're ok.

After you get cleaned up, make yourself a backup!
