high cpu usage by windows modules installer worker post 3/14 update
so, the cumulative update for kb4013429 and kb4013418 went in for me last night, I'm thinking ok cool, about time I saw another update...
I load up star trek online to run the breach event today and right away I notice hellishly slow performance..as in I FLEW INTO A WALL, despite trying to steer to avoid it, so I figure, load up task manager, as I only see performance hits in STO whenever something's eating cpu usage, usually skype's new browser host doohickey..nope. none of my skype windows are up(and thats the only time I see the browser host cause..banner ads, we NEED those microsoft -sarcasm-)
so, I check that nothing else is eating cpu, like avast's various processes...nope, not even an update is running.
I actually manually check those usual culprit sources for the record..
so I reopen task manager and then click on the cpu tab on processes...and whoa momma...windows module installer worker has been running, and is eating precisely half my cpu capacity and has been for the past 40 minutes(the typical breach run takes 20 minutes, I've run two, do the math :P ).
what the sam hell is going on with this idjut computer now? should I be calling it what my late grandfather, rest his soul used to back in the windows 98 days, 'that damned idiot box'?
