    Win 10 PC is lagging

My notepad is lagging when typing text reminiscent of old XP days..
My browsers are lagging as if on old time dial up speed.
    Re-starting doesn't fix things.
I have Malwarebytes Premium which cant see anything wrong.

    Any tweaking suggestions?

Task Manager tells me zilch. It just shows the 3 browsers as working. And Malwarebytes. Nothing else at all.Win 10 PC is lagging-tm-1.png

    Unfortunately that is uninformative.

How much free space do you have on C: ?

Please complete your specs, including disks.
Click 'My computers' below my post for example.
Tutorial available - in the searchable Tutorials section if needed.

    Thanks.

Hi. I use to visit often back in the day with Win 7. I'm out of practice with things PC.

Is there a widget I can run to fetch the specs? The Tuts are too cluttered. Can't find the 'How to'

Thank you. Do the task manager column headings show low %ges - just to check?

And to compare, boot to Safe Mode. Do you notice any lag then?

Have you used any driver update tools?

    - but your specs are for a desktop.

So... what's your notepad/laptop? And about how old is it?

It's a desktop. 4-5 yrs old. Assembled by local PC shop.
Notepad lagging = just typing text such as this reply to thread is like watching an old telex machine punch out the story.
I refreshed this page as it was still open. Took 20+ seconds. (I'm in Sydney with broadband.)
Just to scroll down the front page of Youtube is torture as each thumbnail loads as if on old dial-up.
The issue is this PC not the broadband as my wife's PC is fine.

Thank you for clarifying the notepad/desktop matter.

Please boot to Safe Mode with Networking.
Again as I asked above, in Safe Mode confirm whether there is any lag when typing.
Compare both typing in, say Wordpad, and a browser.

    Compare the browser responsiveness.
