how to fix this issue different formats

i have 3 pcs on is win10 and when i'm on ebay all of a sudden when i put the mouse over the photo i have to click and then it blow up. on the other pc i have win11 and it is the what some call the old way when you put the mouse over the photo ot blows up to the right by itself.

ebay people say it is the seller doing that auto blow up of the photo but if it was then both pcs would do it. i think i hit some switch in the back pages and caused this on the win10 pc and have no clue where to look.

so maybe someone here uses ebay and can tell me if they have this issue? for the most part it may not be a bad thing but on the win10 pc when i click the photo and it blows up, the complete photo moves around in the photo field and it get hard to really see what i'm trying to find i have to move the photo all over the place to dial that in.

i can't believe that if this was the way the seller set it up that one pc would show it one way and the other pc a different way and if it was in my ebay settings it seems it would be the same on both pcs. thanks

FYI: Your ad blocking extension is showing blocked items in one photo but not in the other photo.

Disable that extension temporarily, clear browser cache [Ctrl+Shift+DEL] , exit the browser and relaunch and test.

that did not make a difference this time. i turned off all the blocking items on the win10 pc to see if that changed anything and it is still the same. i looked all over ebay for ways to change this and i did not see any differences. i had both pcs next to each other and will the settings were the same on ebay. so i must have hit a switch on the win10 pc and changed it. i will go and delete all the cookies for ebay and maybe the complete pc, the worst is when i got to some sites i will have to re enter passwords, and if i do it may be tiem to just change them. i will stop back if that helped.

ok i just did a 4 month browser reset and had to re logon to both yahoo and ebay and ebay page did not change. this started about 2 weeks ago so a 4 mont cookie delete should have fixed any cookie issues for saving pages.

i guess the last step would be to just use windows to remove chrome and reinstall it and see if that does anything different but that is a bit of work so before i go down that road lets see if anyone here or on ebay has a fix. worst case is i will just delete and format the drive and start over fresh. and that is lots and lots of work just to find nothing changed. thanks.

on another note i'm looking to get some win11 ready laptops because the old probooks just will not take win11 so this is what a ebay seller told me awhile ago on a pc i'm asking about. so i have to install a larger ssd drive in these as most come with real small ssd drives. anyway if i do i have to use my esd win10 stick and install win10 so can i then update ti win11 thru the pc update page? the place thinks it sill not work read what they told me

(We install our units using Windows Deployment Services. We did not do the "upgrade" through windows update. If you are looking to do an OS reinstall I am not certain if Windows 11 will activate as Microsoft has recently changed their policy within the last couple weeks on using previous version keys to upgrade to 11.)

I meant disable temporarily the two (or maybe three) ad blocking extensions that I can see active.

Copy and past e this into the address bar:

    edge://extensions/

    Press Enter.

Use the sliders to turn off those two extensions and relaunch Edge then test.

Everywhere I'm looking says that that zoom feature is built into Ebay. There is a zoom on hover setting in Edge but disabling that has no effect on those Ebay images. I've just tried.

I'd conclude that your ad blockers are blocking some script on the page when using one of your computers. It doesn't help that you have multiple tabs open.

Maybe just use a single tab - launch Ebay website on the same page on both machines and if zoom is blocked on one but not the other compare the blocked items count on both machines.

i turned all of them off andit is still the same i reset the cookies back to 4 months ago the issue started maybe 2 weeks ago. i turned off all the extensions and it still does this. i can't see how it is an ebay thing when now 2 pcs do not do this and one does. anyway thanks for the help i will have to get used to it and see if ebay will take it away. they did have another test going on and that took all the watch list emails away and then they found it and fixed it so this may be a test and only affects a few pcs. there is a lot of bitching going on in the ebay community about this now. thanks

Well i can't figure that out. Anyway for me it expands on hover. Windows 10.

I tried Librewolf (Firefox Fork), MS Edge Chromium, Vivaldi (Chome variant).

All expand images on hover on Ebay.

I read a tutorial for windows 11 but don't have windows 11 to test. Also I don't believe that it applies to those Ebay images.

i use chrome for my browser and it hovers good on win11 but not in win10. when i say hover what it does is when i put the mouse over the photo it will enlarge that photo and place it over to the right side and then you can see both images.

on this pc i'm replying on it has win10 and this is the pc that when i put the mouse over the photo it does nothing but if i click on the photo it enlarges the photo in the photo section and then as you move the mouse the photo moves in that area, it is weird that on 2 pcs it is the old way and on this pc it is different. the other pcs are 1 is win10 and 1 is win11. so that is why i say it can't really be ebay but something on this pc. anyway it is what it is i guess and i will get use to it like every ther change they make. thanks for helping

All i can suggest is try a different browser just to test then you can uninstall it.

    Maybe try Portable Iron.

    SRWare-Iron-Portable

I'm not sure why but for me the interface displays in German when extracting files but the browser displays in English.

Anyway I just tried it and Ebay expand on hover (auto expand - no click required) works. So maybe try it and if it works it most likely means that it's not a setting in windows 10 somewhere causing the issue.

Note: If you download that for testing you can just delete the folders to remove it.

It's gonna be Javascript related. Not Java, as in Oracle's Java, but JavaScript.

I think the issue here is that eBay and their very low IQ chimp BS ideas keep changing the freaking code more often than an electron that circles the atoms in the grey matter. Thus issues occur more often with more updates to the website code and functionality. More change, more issues will pop up... It's a perpetual cycle of F678kery.... It's an ever constant cycle of BS with that company and its constant changing code. Just like Mozilla et al. The CEO? IDIOT!

Chrome is no better and you want to clear the crap and try again. How to Clear the Cache and Cookies in Your Web Browser | Information Technology Services

In Firefox you can use safe mode by holding the Shift key and launching Firefox, but in Chrome you have to use "incognito" mode.

I think a cache or something messing up the parsing of JS is doing this. Other than the ADblock browser extension (I would use uBlock origin if I were you...) do you use any kind of DNS service for content filtering? Quad9, Cloudflare, OpenDNS, NextDNS, etc? I doubt it, but worth an ask.

Firewalls? Anti-virus that intercepts your Internet connection?
