    Windows recovery partition nearly full

hi guys, i'm on windows 10 home 22H2 19045.3448 and after installing this month's windows updates my windows recovery partition (partition 4) is nearly full. I haven't seen this happen before so wanted to check if I need to do anything like increase the size of the partition? - thanks

Hi, nothing to worry about.. Windows manages that (well... it's supposed to!)

Microsoft details why your recent Windows 11 WinRE updates may have been failing - Neowin

I would make it larger. If you have Minitoll partition or use do it with Diskpart

    Mine's 651 vs 607 used - and I'm not worried.

Yours is (correctly) at the 'end' of the disk - so is ideally placed for resizing.
In much earlier builds the Recovery partition was (wrongly) placed at the start of the disk so could not be expanded. Eventually MS corrected that.

It will only be modified with any major upgrade action:
    - an in-place upgrade repair
    - a major feature update

Win 10's probably not getting another feature update as it is approaching end of life.

Why tinker if all is well?

If you've a mind to .... create an image (or 2) of the drive, set up a regular regime of image creation, then you can delete that Recovery partition and recover the space for other use.

I do unattended scheduled image backups overnight - Macrium 2 x week (Mon Thur) and AOMEI Backupper 2 x week (Wed Sun) to an external USB drive. I've never relied any of the Windows 3 Rs - Recovery Repair or Restore.

Again, I'd suggest just leave well alone- there's no point in intervening. Nothing to gain. And if you were to delete the small Recovery partition you'd lose the features it provides.
