Mouse settings reset on power down

For the last week or so, I've noticed that my "mouse" settings (I use a trackball) are being reset to defaults when I power down. I'm careful to hit "Apply" and then "OK" when setting them the way I want (principally, just the mouse pointer speed), and they persist for the duration of my session, but they don't stick. Any suggestions?

    Hello @Involute,

This will most likely be changed in your mouse's settings, usually found by going into Settings > Devices > Mouse > Additional Mouse Options > Then at the top find your trackball's settings.

Thanks for the reply, but I know how to make the change. My problem is getting it to stick between the PC's power cycles.
