Scroll down till you get to the Services, then use the Show/Hide toggle on the right to hide everything but Win 10 Pro.

The columns of interest are the ones labeled Safe and Tweaked. Usually the Safe column is the one you want.

What does the Windows Update Troubleshooter report?

Default services - did you try the Tutorials section?
Restore Default Services in Windows 10

I have never seen a day with no updates.
I've seen many days with no Windows Updates- thats normal- and I certainly don't bother to manually check for them.

That said, apps frequently update separately in the background, for example.

A useful way to search the Tutorials section- which you are free to browse and search:

    updates are working ok now.
@Ghot -I am not skilled enough to understand your post and link. I did try to click your link and look to the right but was lost. Thank you anyway. @dalchina - the troubleshooter says it cannot fix any issues.
I always manually check updates when I boot up and usually there is an update. I notice during the day there will be another done automatically. I looked at my history and there was never a day without an update.
I am now going to the link about restoring default services to Win 10.
This the only way to learn. Thank you also.

I did try to understand the link about restoring default services to Win 10 but it was way over my head.

    >Under services, what should the settings be for windows 10 Pro? Thanks

Note that there is a difference between mannually scanning for updates (what MS calls 'seeking') and allowing them to be managed automatically by Windows Update.

the troubleshooter says it cannot fix any issues.
If you wish to try to get Windows Update to work - it seems it's broken - please post a screenshot of the result of running the troubleshooter, including and detailed report (link on its GUI) to click.

There should be no need to repeatedly check manually.

    Try
Reset Windows Update in Windows 10

    then run the troubleshooter again.

If still no luck, try only the specific repair for Windows Update offered by Tweaking.com's free repair tool (Google). This has helped some people.

    >Under services, what should the settings be for windows 10 Pro? Thanks
The tutorial provides a list of settings. I've already answered this.

Resetting services to default using that is simply downloading a reg file and applying that.

Or, you can use Tweaking.com's free repair tool for that- just one check box.

Ok, as I asked- what does the 'detailed information' show?

Given your concern about services, have you ever made changes- and have you ever disabled Windows Update?

    >>I never go to services but wanted to be sure update was set to default. I have never disabled update either.
Detailed information seems to say, "Issue not present" as far as I can ascertain.
Having your information bookmarked is a good backup.
