Windows 10 slow booting with fast boot disabled (3 minnutes)

I am a doctor. I have brought a new laptop Lenovo flex 5 14inch with AMD Ryzen 4500u processor, it came preloaded with Windows 10 2004 version (fully updated to latest 19041.58). This laptop has NVMe SSD and gives me a really good boot speed of just around 10 seconds with fast boot switched on. The issue with this laptop is that with fastboot disabled it gives a very slow booting speed of around 3 minutes . Now I want to dual boot with Ubuntu which requires me to disable fastboot. Also I liked to use VPN software such as Avast secureline which again slows down booting to 3 minutes (May be it doesn't allow windows to fastboot).

I noticed that while booting(With fastboot disabled) , first there is a black screen which stays for around 5seconds and later my display gets struck at Lenovo logo for around 2 minutes and then moving into login screen. I am sure my laptop has some incompatible drivers.

I have updated all drivers to latest using driver booster. And updated Display driver to latest from AMD website but issue persist.

I have used Windows performance analyzer to check booting issues as suggested in this forum and it shows that session Init phase of booting takes around 103 seconds. But I am new at using this tool so cannot interpret which drivers are causing this issue. Kindly help.

    I am uploading WPA recordings.

Hi, perhaps only @zinou has experience of using that tool.

I have updated all drivers to latest using driver booster.
    - using such driver updating tools isn't recommended.

Do you know if, prior to installing other programs, disabling - I guess you mean fast startup - caused your boot to increase so much?

You might try using Autoruns (free) from MS - download, install, run as admin- to explore what drivers are loaded on startup. There are two possibilities:
    a. a low level driver delivered by Windows
    b. a 3rd party driver added by installed software.

You could experiment by disabling (cautiously, with appropriate backup) non-MS drivers.

    Backups include:
    - disk imaging
    - system restore
    - registry backup

    Presumably your build is 19041.508
As perhaps you know, fast startup really should not make a lot of difference when using a SSD

In task manager startup tab it tells you how long each item takes to load what does that say?

@Samuria- whilst that might be interesting, the initial problem reported is at a much earlier stage of the boot process.

@dalchina, op is referring to BIOS fast boot, not Windows fast startup.

    @sachin214,
Confirm boot order in BIOS is to boot from SSD with Windows first. You can also try enabling/disabling Windows fast startup to see if that reduces 3 minutes. Also try booting with no devices attached to the laptop.

Can you demonstrate that laptop's UEFI supports that?

Another quick test - boot into safe mode - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...c-in-safe-mode

I did something accidently and it worked...
I downloaded AMD autoremove utility and ran it in safemode. It removed all the AMD drivers. Later I used Lenovo Vantage to autoinstall display driver from Lenovo supplied AMD display driver for my laptop. It installed the older version now my boot times are more acceptable. With fastboot enabled its 10 seconds and without fastboot its around 35 seconds.

I ran windows performance analyzer again this time session Init time is reduced from 103 seconds to 6.18 seconds. Now its the post boot stage which may need some look into.

So its confirmed that display drivers provided on AMD website were the culprit.
I am only running those startup apps which how a low or no impact on startup.
Will try other suggestions provided in this thread to improve my boot time any further.

    My new WPA recording is

To reduce boot time consider clean or selective boot using msconfig:

According to your boot trace, what was causing the boot delay is the AMD Audio CoProcessor driver (amdacpbus.sys) :
    old version: 2.89.0.58
    New version: 2.89.0.61
