Hello Ever, and welcome to Ten Forums.

You should be able to use either option in the tutorial below to restore the "High Performance" power plan.

It sounds like you have Modern Standby which would only have Balanced by default.

It will not let you add any other power plan.

The default power plans are basically nothing more than a plans with preset settings, so you can still manually change the Balanced power plan settings to what you want.

@Ever If you are forced into using modern standby, you cant change any power settings, they are hidden and also ignored. What Brick said is all obsolete and irrelevant. He is kinda also ignoring the information about this for some unknown reason, he was told several times before in other threads, that you cant deactivate modern standby anymore in Windows 10 2004 via CsEnabled. If you want old S3 back and also all the power settings, read this:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/commen...abling_modern/

It is unclear at this point, if MS will maybe restore CsEnabled in registry. I doubt they will.

The rEFind direct download link at the link you posted is a for 3rd party boot manager program. It's fine if one wants to try it, but it's not the native boot manager from Windows for reference.

I'm not ignoring this, and I never said anything about disabling Modern Standby in Windows 10 version 2004. I have no idea where you are getting that from. I would like to see a link where I said that so I could remove it since it's not accurate.

In addition, there could be some pretty serious issues caused on some systems by forcing to disable Modern Standby. This is why the ability to disable Modern Standby with CsEnabled (from Connected Standby) was removed.

I have two Modern Standby computers ("Surface Pro X" and "HP Spectre 360 2in1"), and I am currently able to change my available power plan settings with them sticking.

You just cannot add any new power plans though.

If you click on the battery in the notification area do you have a slider to change power?
