    Boot slower overtime on SSD

Hi! I need some help on this because I can't really figure out what's going on.

A few months ago my 7200 RPM HDD died on me, so I took that as an opportunity and switched to SSD. It's a Kingston A400 with 240 GB capacity.

At first the boot time was pretty quick, around 10 - 15 seconds, even with Fast Boot disabled. But overtime, it started to take longer and longer. The SSD itself appears to be fine, as CrystalDiskMark shows expected write and read values. Also I ran CrystalDiskInfo and says everything's fine too. CHKDSK and WD LifeGuard showed no errors whatsoever.

I made some research and downloaded the Windows Perfomance Recorder, and found out the Winlogon phase is taking way too long. However the Windows Perfomance Analyzer is way too complex to me and I can't pinpoint the problem properly.

Things I tried to no avail:

    - Boot with no 3rd party services running
    - Updating the SATA driver
    - Uninstalling (not unplugging) the DVD drive

    Specs:

    - 8GB RAM
    - Intel Core i5-4430 3.0 gHz
    - Kingston A400 240 GB SSD
    - Windows 10 Version 1909 (18363.815)

You may find the log here: DESKTOP-T0RIQN9.05-05-2020.09-57-29_normal.Boot_1.zip - Google Drive

It's pretty compressed so it may take some time to unzip.

Hi, maybe something in this somewhat similar thread may help:
Slow Boot on Fresh Install with SSD (3-5min+)

And please state your Windows build as the forum prompted when you wrote your post, to save us asking. Thanks.

Hi, I stated the version and build number in the specs. Not sure if it's what you guys wanted.

Another thing I did today is downloading and running Autoruns. I uploaded the screenshots here: Autoruns.zip - Google Drive

Interestly enough, there is a missing driver (amsdk.sys) that Windows is attempting to load in every boot. I'm wondering if this could having something to do with this issue.

Hi, the build no's fine thanks.

If you try a clean boot, do you see any difference? (Google clean boot or see tutorial if unsure).

In the thread I linked I suggested using verbose boot logging. You could try that too.
Please see how that one was solved.

@zinou - wondered if you could help with WPA please. First post offers a log to download. Thanks!

    What is amsdk.sys?
It seems that your Advanced Malware Protection my be corrupted.

Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
    sfc /scannow
    Report

Clean boot didn't make any difference. Still, I uploaded the log so check it out if you wish: DESKTOP-T0RIQN9.05-06-2020.12-08-04_clean.Boot_1.zip - Google Drive

Tried the verbose logging. For some reason I couldn't see which drivers were loading during boot (Maybe it does not work in UEFI?)

    Anyhow, I still have the log: Microsoft (R) Windows (R) Version 10.0 (Build 18363) 5 6 2020 12:33:25.500 B - Pastebin.com

During logon, it took a while in "Waiting for Local Session Manager" and "Waiting for User Profile Service".

amsdk.sys appears to be from Zemana Anti-Malware. I tried and uninstalled it afterwards a while ago.

sfc /scannow says everything is fine.

    Thank you for your reply.

You don't say whether you found no file
    C:\Windows\ntbtlog.txt
existed or not. (The file is given in the tutorial).
I have this file present on mine - presumably by default, as I've not looked at it before.

Please confirm whether you've looked for this file and whether it is present.

Yes, file is present and you can find its content in the PasteBin link. Or I can put it right here, whatever is more convenient for you.

    Hi,

I took a look at your boot trace and see that the logon phase took 50s. However, it shows also that it takes you 35s to enter your credentials.

Can you tell me where you see the delay? before the logon screen appears or during the logon?

    Is fast startup disabled?

Please download and install Autologon so that you avoid entering your credentials during the boot and have and have an accurate boot trace to analyze.

    Take another boot trace.
