Freezing . System Restore . New GPU Driver . Still Freezing a bi. Help
First , let me say that my MB, CPU and Memory are all new and i have windows 10 home 64 bit Ver. 1903. After a few days of using my upgraded PC and learning how to use windows10, i started having issues.
For a few days in a row, as my pc wakes from sleep mode, there would be a welcome screen with NO login button. Using ctrl alt delete would bring up the login button and i could resume using the computer. That was the first wonky thing i noticed.
Next, my video player started freezing up the entire pc so i disabled hardware acceleration and that seemed to fix that issue.
Then google chrome began to be unresponsive or freeze. It froze so bad that i had to turn the power off.
Then i couldn't reboot and windows would not load at all. I was forced to boot from my windows 10 usb drive.
Then windows repair feature timed out and couldn't finish.
Then windows couldn't find my image backup that was stored on an external drive.
Finally i did the restore option and that got me up and running again.
Chrome was still slow but i managed to google some advice. I was told to run chrome in windows 8 compatibility mode so i did that.
Next i found a new driver update for my RX560 GPU. The download was very slow and the pc felt like it was slow. It took a while to install the driver but after rebooting, the new driver seemed to have made a difference. I thought everything was fixed.
I ran sfc scannow and found no integrity issues
chkdsk found no problems with my primary ssd drive
Windows10 says i am fully updated
After going through all that, why am i still having freezing issues? Chrome still hangs but, so far, it is not nearly as bad.
Another example of freezing is when i click on a folder it tells me "working on it".
This is nearly and brand new computer. HWINFO reports that cpu temps are good and everything looks normal with the hardware.
hoping someone will help me get this all sorted. Thanks!
