It is a 4TB drive and can take substantial time.

In the future boot to a Windows 10 iso > command prompt > type: chkdsk /r /v > reboot as needed > it wil typically display ETA

You think mostly take 1.5 - 2 days about?

    I do NOT understand saying:
"In the future boot to a Windows 10 iso > command prompt > type: chkdsk /r /v > reboot as needed > it wil typically display ETA"

what relate [to scan with chkdsk for ext usb disk] has an iso file... ?

chkdsk can be ran from command prompt or Windows RE command prompt.

When using the windows 10 iso > open the advanced troubleshooting menu (windows RE) > open command prompt with title bar: Administrator:X:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe and prompt: X:\Sources>
    Type: chkdsk /r /v C: or chkdsk /r /v D:
    reboot
    It typically displays ETA
For a 750 GB HD it may display 3 to 4 hours.
Then as it progresses it may display 2hours, etc.
So you should have an estimated time for completion by using Windows RE.

In contrast, when using command prompt it will rise to a low number in the teens and remain there until completion.
There is typically no ETA when using command prompt as compared to Windows RE command prompt.

The time for running chkdsk can be quite variable.
The size of the drive, problems found in the drive file system, free space, chkdsk switches used, etc. can all impact the run time.

The event viewer should have the chkdsk reports > post share links into the thread
(Overnight you can run chkdsk /r /v so that all drives are checked for drive file system corruption)
(When using the switches some may already include other switches)
(And some are more rigorous is checking for problems)

The title that was entered for this thread was: Currently I said him run chkdsk /f /r J:

Those seeing this may decide to look at the contents to offer help for chkdsk problems.

To get the most eyeballs on a problem it should be in the title of the thread.
So if you want to address video problems it's best to open a new thread.

The log collectors are to view all major computer problems.

When looking up error codes they have definitions.
    Many are ambiguous.
    For example:
0x80070057 = The parameter is incorrect.

    Please post the following:
    1) share links for chkdsk results
    2) V2 and DM log collector results

Maybe it's just me, but it sure looks like the drive is physically failing and needs to be replaced.

It displayed an unspecified error. @Bree had created an unspecified error that was fixed.

The not enough space problem is ambiguous.
It does not display the location.
In other threads there was lots of free space on C: that was increased from an unallocated area.
    The unallocated area was increased.
Neither fixed the "does not have enough space"
